Python Hutnress - Website Stills_1.126.1.jpg

The Florida Everglades was once home to an abundance of mammals, birds and reptiles…

Then came the Burmese Python, an invasive species that can grow up to 18 feet in length and eats every animal in its path. Now, with the Everglades ecosystem on the brink of collapse, the State of Florida has hired professional contractors to hunt and remove the Burmese Python in order to save the ‘glades.

One of those contractors is Donna Kalil, an environmentalist and herpetologist who spends her nights patrolling the levies in her Python Elimination Vehicle. Not only was Donna the first woman to get hired into the program, but she has also caught over 700 pythons to date! Python Huntress is a glimpse into Donna’s world and the destruction that’s been caused by the pythons.
